Hi Guys, here come to saviour of the class blog! I am here to save the blog!
I missing you guys so much, there is lots of fun that we have miss together. It is going to be a year since we are together as a class, the class of 4C.

I have lots and lots of photos in my computer that we took in 4C'08 if you want it drop me a email, I maybe replying late cause I have lots of competition training going on for me. Life have been hectic as usual for me.

4C-rians, we may not be know each other in 50 years down the road, we may not call each other in 50 yeard down the road too but it is that 2 years we spend together we make things special. Come on, make this class blog like you blog, post up things you are doing or have you gotten DIST in all our exam which you never done before in YUYING!

Hope you all are enjoying yourself in your own schools now, and i know holidays is coming sooon... Let's see can we find something during the holiday for a Chirstmas bash or New Year Countdown. I promise you guys to come for sure! I have free up this coming holiday for 4C, so someone call for some outing - this is the only holiday i can afford to spend, the upcoming ones I will be having competition trainings already and some I will going to represent Singapore for competition (if i get through the finals) so someone work on outing pleaseeeeeeeeeee!

Well the end of another year is going to be near soon...
It really have been a long time ever since the last day of school for 2008,
And it have been 355days since last years O lvl ends.
Thats is also the number of days we have never been together as a whole class
With every single one present. =)
I misses you people alot and I really miss the old days.
Time really fly and everyone seems so different now.
Just hope that everyone is doing great! =)

Oi stupid sam, never include those in shatec. Anyway as sam said, Let's get this shit over and done with... Being grown up has it's own responsibility.

School life after Secondary school is really different, the teachers( Or host mentors in mine and cyrus's case), they do not really care if you pass or fail, as they have already gotten their diploma/Degrees. So it's really up to us to help ourself.

Anyway there's a nice cafe/bistro in Vivo, Check out my blog for my review on it. :D

How are you guys doing out there? Some had already started their JCs? Some had been preparing for the admission for poly? Some are still working for extra cash? Some are studying hard to re-do they O levels. No matter where we are the 37 of us will stay as 1 class, 1 soul. 4C’08 will always be remembered. The way each and every on of us look like when we in school, in the white uniform. The noisy that we made in class. The way we taught each other. Not forgetting each and everyone of us have something different to remember.

Release of 2008 GCE O-Level Examination Results and 2009 Admission Exercises for Junior Colleges, Polytechnics and Institute of Technical Education

The results of the 2008 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) Examination will be released on Monday, 12 January 2009.
School candidates may collect their results from their schools at 2:00 pm on 12 January 2009. Private candidates will be informed of their results by post. They may also access their results through the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board website from 2:00 pm on 12 January 2009.
Students can apply for Junior Colleges (JCs), Millennia Institute (MI), Polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) via both the Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE) and the Joint-Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise (JPSAE) using their GCE O-Level results.

Joint Admissions Exercise

The JAE is conducted annually by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to allow those who had sat for the GCE O-Level Examination to apply for admission to courses offered by the JCs, MI, Polytechnics and ITE.
The following groups of applicants are eligible to participate in the JAE:

All Singapore Citizens (SCs) or Permanent Residents (PRs) with valid GCE O-Level Examination results.
International students studying in a government school, government-aided school or independent school in Singapore with valid 2008 GCE O-Level Examination results.

Registration Process

The JAE registration period is for 5 calendar days, starting from 3:00 pm on Monday, 12 January 2009 and ending at 4:00 pm on Friday 16 January 2009.
Applicants are to submit their application online through the JAE Internet System (JAE-IS), which is accessible through the JAE website.
Eligible applicants who sat for the 2008 GCE O-Level Examination will receive ‘Form A’ on the day of the release of examination results (i.e. 12 January 2009). Form A will list:
- The applicant’s GCE O-Level Examination results;
- The courses which he/she is eligible to apply for under the JAE; and
- His/her JAE-PIN (i.e. a personal password for the applicant to access the online internet registration system).
Applicants are strongly advised to complete the course application worksheet (provided in both Form A and the JAE information booklet) before submitting the online application via the JAE-IS. Applicants who have completed their worksheet prior to logging on to the JAE-IS should be able to complete their applications on the JAE-IS in less than 15 minutes.
Applicants are required to use their NRIC or FIN number, together with the JAE-PIN that is provided in their Form A, to access the JAE-IS. A SingPass is not required.
Applicants must provide a local mobile phone number during registration through JAE-IS if they wish to receive the results of their JAE application through SMS text messaging.
For SCs/PRs applicants who did not sit for the 2008 GCE O-Level Examination:
- They are required to use their NRIC and SingPass to access the JAE-IS.
- Alternatively, they may apply personally at MOE Customer Service Centre during the JAE registration period. To do this, applicants are required to bring along their original identity card, original GCE O-Level Examination certificate(s)/result slip(s) and Secondary School report book and/or CCA Certificate(s).
During the registration period for the JAE, all JCs, MI, polytechnics, ITE and all secondary schools will also make available computing facilities for students to make their applications online.

Application Fees

An application fee of $7 will be charged for the first application, and $10 for amendment of choice(s) to the submitted application. JAE applicants are allowed to amend their submitted application ONCE only. They will not need to make their fee payment online during the JAE period. All JAE application fees will only be collected after the exercise, by the institution (i.e. JC, MI, polytechnic or ITE) that the applicant is eventually enrolled in.

Results of Application

The posting results of the JAE application are tentatively scheduled for release on 30 January 2009 through the following modes:

JAE-IS which is accessible through the JAE website;
Short Messaging System (SMS) to the mobile phone number provided by applicant during registration; and
JAE Interactive Voice Response System at telephone number 6691-2131

Joint Polytechnic Special Admissions Exercise

The JPSAE will be conducted, together with the JAE, from 12 January 2009 to 16 January 2009. A student can apply concurrently to both the JPSAE and JAE. Successful applicants may be offered a course under the JAE and the same or another course under the JPSAE. Students who are offered courses under both JAE and JPSAE can decide to accept one of the two offers and exercise it during the enrolment period set by the polytechnics.
The JPSAE complements the existing JAE, by allowing polytechnics to consider applicants based on a broader measure of merits beyond performance in the GCE O-Level Examination. It allows polytechnics to consider students with outstanding talents and achievements in areas such as leadership, community service and sports. Each polytechnic will have the discretion to determine its own means of assessing applicants’ talents and achievements, including through portfolios and interviews. The polytechnics will set their selection criteria to ensure that only applicants who are able to cope with the rigours of a diploma education are admitted.

For People who had been scolding me about the no hair dye story. I believe Mrs Ravi had message you people the details.

Collection of results will start from 2pm in the school. Your attire is to be either smart causal or full school uniform. NO OUTLANDISH HAIR STYLE ALLOW (such as hair dye or fancy hair cuts)

Any student with inappropriate attire will only be allowed to collect their result at 5pm in proper attire. For people who think you can get your results through the net. You still need your JAE pin from the school to allow you do your polytechnic admission.

How's the holiday going? Some maybe working, some maybe having fun, other maybe still studying for their A levels? Come on, people!!! Let's make this blog as happening as possible. My 2 years in 4C had been always filled with fun and laughter. You people maybe up to my little mischief at times but recently I do see that we had the tension in us as the days is getting nearer and nearer. It had been just too nice to have you people as my classmate for it to leave YUYING, I will surely miss you guys. I know I have been nagging and nagging about the class effort and other things. For once I will not do so, tomorrow is going to be the last day we will be sitting in this class of yours for lessons. We couldn't have come this far without each and everyone one of us playing a part. I am truly going to miss you guys (when I say guys I mean gals as well...). To be very frank when I was assigned as your form teacher last year, it was one of the most difficult years I ever had in my teaching career. But through all the challenges and difficult moments, I realised that I have learnt more from my 3C and 4C then I ever had in my teaching career.

So once again...thank you.

As you reach the end your final lessons this week, try to keep this in mind...how you have made such a difference. You are capable of reaching whatever goals you set your mind to.

Its time to shift your gears and start if you haven't already. Imagine yourself at the finishing line - glad you tried your best. Getting good enough results to do what you want to do not what you are forced to do cos you had no other choice...

MONDAY:

2 period after Principles of Accounting / Add. Math can be P.E (by Mr Lawrence) or English lessons (by Ms Lee);

TUESDAY:

2 period after Geography can be CME (by Mrs Goh) or E.Maths Lesson (by Mr Chia - since he is on ICT the relief teacher may take over);

1 period right after the above lesson can be P.E (by Mdm Wong) or English (by Ms Lee);

FRIDAY:

1 period at the start of the day can be PG (by Mrs Ravi) or E.Math Lesson (by Mr Chia - since he is on ICT the relief teacher may take over).

CLB / Syllabus Documents

4C,

There had been some heated argument about whether CLB is counted for entrance for JCs or Polytechnic in its L1R5 or L1R2B2 respectively? Okay, let me clarify everything here in one go. Students taking CLB are not allowed to use them as part of the JCs or Polytechnic subject combination for entrance as CLB is not counted as an O levels examination subject. This well supported by the SEAB web site in its subject syllabus stating that it is not an O levels subject and also the confirmation of the Chinese Department on regards to it. Only O level subjects are allowed to be use for the computing of the L1R5 or L1R2B2. Here is a list of O levels subject (clicking on it will allowed you to see its syllabus document):

I realised I've been missing out alot of things on 4C blog.
Thanks to my dinosaur lappy....
Cannot blog,cannot online, cannot surf net!
Just to share and add on on what both Mrs. Ravi and Chenglei had blogged about.

Alot things had happened throughout these few weeks ever since term 3 starts.
I personally experienced both happy and sad stuffs.
And I can said, I'm always so emotional!
One of my teacher just left me yesterday, won't be able to see her for the next 4-5 years,hence,I'm quite emotional.But I promised I'll pass O Level.
Running in and out of hospital for frequent pysiotheraphy had make me worn out.
With the damn hospital reference not to have any heavy duty which includes walking for too long
Hence, never get to join in the last Zer08 with class.

I must said, this last sec sch year, is a crucial to all of us.
VP, Mr Tay just shared with me the things he does in the past last week.
For major examinations, you've to study study and study.
Of cux, that's provided when you're both tired and energetic.
It's a need to study when you're energetic,things get into brain.
But, if you're sian and tired, do you still follow the schedule to study and revise as usual?
Laziness and unmotivated are not gonna get you to anywhere.
So like what Mr Chia had shared with the class,
You dont say you want to pass when you are not doing anything at all.
Same applies, if you're tired, does it mean you stop?

Recently,I've been in frequent contact with Cyrus's mum.
She has been a very great and noble mum even though her son is mischievous.
She makes sure she's up to date to what Cyrus will need to do for school work and extra lessons.
And i witnessed that, even though Cyrus always says he'll score A1s for ALL SUBJECTS.
He did not make empty promises or bounced cheque.
Also provided that he has a very strong pillar getting him on track.
That's his mother.

Different people adapt to different motivation.
Ppl like cyrus need ppl to use both hard and soft methods.
Be it scolding or encouraging, his mum had done it.
Why?
For her son's sake, for her son's future.
So now here I shared with all of you, so stop saying his mum for some of you who ALWAYS did.
His mum is great, I mean, ALL MUMS IN THIS WORLD ARE GREAT NO MATTER WHAT.

There's 2 categories of motivations.
Firstly, the soft method and then the hard method.
And I observe that our class people mostly needs hard method to control and discipline.
Whereas ppl like Esther doesnt need becux she's disciplined enough.
NO OFFENCE PPL!

Like Shermin, She's always suan by Mr.Chia,but she never give up in maths.
Becux she knows her target,even though I chatted with her and she don't know where to go yet, but she'll know in time.
So, the morale of the story is:

-Never give up!
Becux Mrs.Ravi and other teachers have never give up on us before, like what Mrs.Ravi mentioned,you will never know till you try!
I've never like POA thanks to poor foundation I've.But I'm struggling in the meanwhile to pass.
To learn everything again definitely needs alot of courage and motivation.
And it's still definitely not too late if we start over again,even though we're left with 60 over days. I'm willing to put my own dignity down to learn everything.Even to the extend of Cyrus mocking. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN! Not a damn to his mockery becus I know I can do it and I must do it!

After working hard, you'll see the tree bears its fruits next year.
Why not CRY(distress) now when you're stress and strugglin and SMILE and LAUGH and GILA till you shed tears next year when you got your result?

Choose the way you want.Your future is ALWAYS bet by you.
Outsiders can't do much except encouraging you.

It was one of the many experiences you will probably treasure when you think back on your last year with Yuying and with 4C...treasure the moments. This coming week will be a very important start to another milestone in your journey towards the finishing line, your first Prelim Paper and the MT results....have no regrets and go for your personal best. The important thing is to try and not to give up before u even try. Be strong mentally to shut out those distractions that will be there - internally and externally. Get strength from the vision of you being satisfied with your o level results...always have that vision to keep you going. I am confident each of you can do it...Believe and it will materialise.

IMPORTANT DAY

For people who didn't notice that 12 Aug 2008 is an important day.

On this day the following is going to happen:-

1. you will be getting your result for O levels mother tongue exams.

2. you will get to know whether you gotten a DPA course (if you are selected)

3. you will be sitting for your 1st paper of prelims 2 exam

4. you will need to hand in all you D&T coursework (for D&T student)

So many things are just happening on 1 day itself.

You might agree with it, but when it actually happens 99% of girls don't realize it until it is too late

What would you want to do if you only had one day to live? What would you regret doing or not doing? Something to think about....cos most of us start regretting when its already too late. What is stopping you from achieving what you have always dreamed of doing?

Lets stop....
thinking about what has happened
worrying about what ifs
blaming other people for what we can't achieve
blaming ourselves for being ourselves...
making negative comments when positive comments take the same amount of time and effort

Thank you to those of you who keep the classroom clean, I know there are those who try to pick up/sweep after the few who are littering.
I am aware that I have not connected with each and everyone of you and I may have lost some of you but I hope you will let me keep trying.

Dearest 4C,

I just realise I didn't blog for the past dunno how many months. I am out to stress you people again. Prelims are here, O levels are nearer. Soon our timetable will be change again, there will not be so many D&T/F&N lesson after august. All this lessons will be replace by the core subjects. Come on people, buck up it is the last lap already.

Bosaball competition coming up this tuesday do go down and support our classmate, even though you are not playing. Moral support sure will help a lot. ALL THE BEST TO ALL PLAYING BOSABALL.

Please do not litter the class, I have been like sweeping it every morning and sometimes even arrange the table. So if you step into a neat and well-arranged class do not be surprise cause I help been like arranging and sweeping the class every morning at about 7am when I reach school.

School is re-opening, had you finish your homework? For those who had made an effort to turn up every single extra lesson, WELL DONE! For those who just didnt bother, hopefully you did some revision yourself at home. Time is running out, look it is not left with only 120 days. When i first put this countdown clock up on the blog and in class it was 170++ days, but just in a glance the number has jumped by 50 odd days.

It is going to be a stressful journey for all, this is not going to be easy if you are not going to put in the effort. If you had miss, fail yourself for PSLE, that why you landed in YUYING, here comes your chance to prove the rest of family members, relatives and friends wrong that you actually can beat those RI, RGS, etc students. This national exam is going to be the final one to prove the path you are going to have in future working live, i believe none of us wish to be working in the morning, that attending lessons at night. So lets not damage our future.

Grumbling is something we all can, but think after those gruble i.e this teacher do not know how to teach? Will you learn something? If you know that this teacher cant teach and it is posted to teach our class, let it be, all we can do is to study on our own. Just to share a quote that my close primary school friend ever told me “Life is a prototype, it how you sketch it, how to design it, how you shape it, how to polish it, to bring it into a crowd and all this starts from the pencil you are holding in your hand.” This is what that had been keeping me going on for the past few years, talking about stress, everyone faces them, it is how you actually face it and overcome it.

Different people come arcoss different stress in life, some are in term of family, friends, work, studies, expectations, etc. For me, it is the amount of endless planning coming up and at the same time juggling with the school work, exams and the time to spare with my family and friends. Believe me or not, in your life as a student it is not only about studies, it is about character development and also friends. This is the only time you are able to find true friends. When you go into working world in future, it is going to hard to find one. Just wait, remember what i had just mention, 20 year later when we had our career look into your handphone, scroll down the contact, look how many for the numbers inside are friends you can look for and come without fail, just to listen to your sorrows.

4C, how are you people feeling now? Do you feel the stress? Exam papers are coming back tml, MT O levels are coming in abt 1 week time, 150+ days to O levels written paper, after jun holiday - 'o' oral examations!!!

Regardless, the result you get tml whether is it GOOD or BAD, dont let it be something to be proud/sad of, let it be something to motivate you to do better. REMEMBER the race is only over when you have ended the papers. you are still mid-way thru' it, you still can carry on running at the speed you are at - if you are together with the averages, you still stilll sprint to win it - if you lagging behind, you can still catch a breath and relax - if you are way infront. but do remember play and studies must be EQUAL, never more play less study or less play more study.

Exams are over but this is only the 1st hurdle you had cleared. there are more to come...regardless is it national or school exams they are equal important. after perlims, it is going to be the post-exam activities - almost everday having mother tongue preparation classes before recess. for those who did not realised chinese o levels is coming in 17 Days for now. that is the 1st paper of the national exam before anything else. followed up, is your orals and listening, than last of all, the written exams. that will end the run in your secondary school and gives you a long break before you take your results and start the run for your poly / JC life. i know it had been tired to jump this hurdle - prelims 1. come on people who had studied it is time to have a break and relax. for people who had not start hitting on the books, start now it is not to late to do so now. but it will too late if you still want to think you have all the time in world. don worry for your results too much, if you did badly than try harder..
